<br>Cisco Announces that IP Telephony Certifications Double in 2003<br><br>Today, many organizations are looking for ways to harnesses the power and flexibility of IP Networking to dramatically increase employee productivity, improve business resilience, and take advantage of the latest applications to foster collaboration and innovation, all with an increasing ROI. <br><br>Achieving these goals requires that companies have a competent workforce ready to design, install, and support today's IP Telephony networks and applications. In mid 2002, Cisco established three IP Telephony Certification programs to meet this need, fueled by 60 percent industry-wide growth and adoption of IP Telephony. <br><br>Since then, Cisco's IP Telephony certifications have experienced continued month-over-month expansion, and in the period between December 2002 and July 2003, the number of IP Telephony certifications issued doubled. With industry analysts projecting 40 percent growth in IP telephony through 2007, Cisco is committed to maintaining and enhancing it's portfolio of IP Telephony certifications and training to meet the needs of networking professionals worldwide.<br><br>Cisco offers three IP Telephony Certifications: IP Telephony Design Specialist, IP Telephony Operations Specialist, and IP Telephony Support Specialist.<br><br>A summary of the courses and exams required to achieve each of these certifications is listed below: <br><br>IP Telephony Design Specialist <br>Prerequisite: CCDA<br>- Required exam 9E0-601, recommended course: Deploying Quality of Service (DQOS)<br>- Required exam 9E0-412, recommended course: Enterprise Voice over Data Design (EVODD)<br><br>IP Telephony Operations Specialist<br>Pre-Requisite: CCNA<br>- Required exam 9E0-601, recommended course: Deploying Quality of Service (DQOS)<br>- Required exam 9E0-422, recommended course: IP Telephony Troubleshooting (IPTT)<br><br>IP Telephony Support Specialist<br>Pre-Requisite: CCNP<br>- Required exam 9E0-601, recommended course: Deploying Quality of Service (DQOS)<br>- Required exam 9E0-441, recommended course: Cisco IP Telephony (CIPT)<br>- Required exam 9E0-431, recommended course: Cisco Voice over IP (CVOICE) <br><br>Courses that prepare networking professionals to pass the exams required to achieve one or more of the IP Telephony certifications, as well as other IP Telephony classes, are offered through the global network of authorized Cisco Learning partners.
